Should I buy or build myself?

I have built a fair number of free standing and attached greenhouses over the years. Most were built from scavenged materials in the days before polycarbonate was widely available and affordable. If I was to start from scratch and had the money available, I would consider buying a free standing greenhouse premade from a manufacturer. I would then use the free standing greenhouse on an independent four season rotation.

I would also build a hoop house myself to prepare seedlings in spring. Then I would take it down during the harsh weather of summer, only to assemble it again in the fall to extend the season for container grown plants.

This way you keep from over loading the free standing greenhouse while also sparing it the risks of cross contamination.
